Forging your own path
When you find out you are expecting a baby, one of the first things you and your partner do is often discuss names you like. Naming a real-life human being is a pretty big responsibility. Your son or daughter will have to walk around with that name for their whole life, answering to it at doctor’s surgeries and in classrooms.
As much as we might like to steer away from generic Joe’s or Mark’s or Susan’s, there is a benefit to following a well-worn path. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself in the middle of a supermarket, yelling the most random word you can think of and trying not to be embarrassed.
