Milky Way
There are some changes that you might think would have huge effects but are actually minimal. Then, there are those that seem insignificant but can actually be catastrophic to life on Earth. Moving the position of our solar system further out of the Milky Way is one of those latter examples!

But how could this cause greater asteroid impacts? It’s because the gravity of huge planets like Jupiter and Saturn causes asteroids to go off-course, away from the Earth. Sometimes, they even smash straight into these planets, which is why Jupiter is known as the solar system’s “vacuum cleaner.” I’m very grateful for these planets!
