While there isn’t just one answer as to why global warming is happening, we can discuss the many factors that come into play regarding global warming. We did learn during the height of the pandemic that many people staying home and not driving cars changed the atmosphere, but we can’t live inside forever.
There has to be a solution that is balanced between humans and nature. We must live our normal lives while still protecting our planet. Some argue that the planet has a natural cooling and heating pattern that will occur regardless of what we do as human beings.

No matter what you think the solution may be, right now we just want to chat about why global warming is happening. Below you’ll find some of the causes of this climate change that is occurring on Earth today.
Global Temperature Rise
Now that we have satellites in space that can document all that’s happening on Earth, we can see an influx in temperatures across the globe with ease. It has been shown that the temperature on our planet has significantly increased since human beings started living here.
Warming Oceans
We discussed the warming oceans in the past on this site, and today we’re mentioning them again. The ocean waters have risen in temperature over time and seem to be increasing overall. This plays a key role in how much food we have, and whether small animals overtake the oceans or not.

Shrinking Ice Sheets
There are many glaciers and ice sheets that are shrinking throughout the world. Today we’ve seen the ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland shrink in mass over the centuries. Greenland alone lost an average of 279 billion tons of ice per year during 1193-2019!
Decreased Snow Cover
You may notice that some of the popular mountain ranges are experiencing a decrease in show cover. This is happening in Asia, America, and all over the world. Snowcaps that typically were found on top of the highest mountains are receding as temperatures continue to rise.

The warming of our planet, oceans, and atmosphere will play a role in how our ecosystem changes over the years. The food chain, forests, and other areas in our world may change as the temperatures continue to rise. It’s best to do your part to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle so that you’re helping offset the global warming occurring in our world.
