Residents weren’t happy when authorities failed to act on reports of a bear walking around like a human

A danger to the locals

While many people were heartbroken over Pedals’ death, some weren’t, as all creatures have a place in this world.

The Fish and Wildlife division of the New Jersey government stated that Pedals, a black bear, was not more deserving of rescue than any other wild black bear. Even though people had formed an emotional connection to him, he was still a wild animal that could be dangerous to humans. Despite his injuries, Pedals remained aggressive and far from innocent.
