40+ Stories From Women Who Used to Work at Hooters

July 10, 2019 by Michael Franklin

Hooters is a restaurant chain that specializes in chicken and has been around since April Fool’s Day in 1983. The creators of Hooters didn’t believe their restaurant would succeed, so they built a little graveyard at the entrance to commemorate all of the previous businesses that had tried but failed. But Hooters was a success, and there are now over 400 of them across the world. What it’s like to be a Hooters girl, though? Take a look at this list of tales from former Hooters employees to find out for yourself.

From the Jump Start

All right, let’s get this party started with the Hooters jump start. According to reports, Hooter’s employees perform a few inspections before each shift. First and foremost, the manager confirms that staff are properly made up and have their hair down and styled. Isn’t it strange for a restaurant to require that its employees be properly made up?

Managers also inspect each Hooters girl’s nails to ensure that they’re well-painted. According to a former employee, the start-up isn’t quite as shocking as it appears.
