Checkers
I consider checkers to be the game that prepares you for playing chess. I don’t know how many hours I spent playing this game. Trying to learn some kind of strategy to beat the one person who always won in my family. My siblings and cousin practiced together to try to hone our skills but we were still no match for her.
She clear the board with ease and had no remorse for the losers. It is one of my more painful memories from childhood. Thanks a lot, grandma. You couldn’t let any of us win even once. It brings the competitive edge of every member of the family or friends depending who you are playing with.
