#42: Mystery of the Craigmiles Mausoleum
Where? Tennessee
When? 1871
In 1871, a tragic accident took the life of 7-year-old Nina Craigmiles. In her memory, her family erected a beautiful mausoleum crafted from pristine Italian marble. However, mysterious red stains began to emerge on the marble’s surface soon after Nina’s interment, proving resistant to all cleaning efforts.
These marks seemed to multiply by adding each family member to the mausoleum. Lacking a scientific explanation, local lore interprets these enigmatic streaks as the manifestation of Nina’s enduring sorrow.
