Because I Said So, That’s Why
Oh, how many times did we hear this phrase as children? As kids, “because I said so” makes no sense and has no real reason behind it. As adults, however, we learn that sometimes we just can’t. Mothers feel compelled to say this classic phrase when a simple “No” isn’t a good enough reason for their child, and can we blame them?
This woman served the “Because I said so” line to her own daughter, years after hearing it herself as a child. She probably realized what it was like for her own mother when she would beg and plead. Mothers are always looking out for their child’s best interest, and it’s important to realize that sometimes, they don’t need to explain their reasoning.
