Here are some stats on Alzheimer’s disease that might surprise you: it’s the 6th leading cause of death in the United States and the only one in the top 10 without a way to prevent, cure, or slow its progression. It’s also the most common cause of dementia, which affects more than 50 million people worldwide.

In the US alone, it’s estimated that 5.7 million people live with the disease. The number of people with Alzheimer’s is projected to triple by 2050. It’s also worth noting that it’s not just older people who are affected – around 200,000 people under the age of 65 have younger-onset Alzheimer’s.
