It’s basic decency if you damage someone’s car and cannot pay for the damages; the least you could do is leave a note describing what happened, and apologize, even if you don’t intend to cover the damages for the other person. This person had twice as much misfortune as normal, as it was not just the car accident.

Someone ransacked this guy’s vehicle to the point of getting him a parking ticket, then took off without a second thought. A fine of $43 was issued because the accident’s impact had pushed the automobile onto the sidewalk. This person had a double misfortune; not only does he need to pay for the damages, but he also has to bear the hassle of paying for the parking ticket. Bad luck!
