Dutch Kickboxer Jan Plas
Jan Plas, a titan in the realm of martial arts, particularly kickboxing, carved his legacy by establishing the renowned Mejiro Gym and co-founding the Dutch Kickboxing Association. He was a mastermind behind the success of many celebrated fighters. However, beneath this veneer of accomplishment lurked a darker side. Plas had a notorious involvement in the underworld, his most egregious act being the audacious kidnapping of Gijs van Dam II.

The enigmatic Plas was deeply entwined with the dark web of the Dutch underworld. In 2008, his life took a dramatic turn when he was apprehended on suspicion of drug trafficking. Meanwhile, his daughter and son-in-law were ensnared in a web of fraud and money laundering allegations. Tragically, in 2010, at the age of 65, Plas chose to end his own life in his prison cell, closing the final chapter of his tumultuous and intriguing existence.
