It’s Barely Even a Joke
Again, Dude with a Sign hits the bull’s eye. We’ve all heard this joke at least once (or once too many), though it’s likely that we’ve all said it numerous times before. It’s New Year’s Eve or near the end of the year, and people joke about “seeing you next year” to wish one another a happy new year. And then they laugh out loud as if it were the most acceptable joke ever told, and it was oh-so-original.
Sure, we all laugh as if we’ve never heard that joke in so many years of our lives. After all, we don’t want to offend. But it’s time to stop telling it. It’s been overused. It isn’t any longer amusing! Of course, if it’s funny to you, that’s fantastic – but only use it occasionally.
