Another Proof To Not Lose Hope In Humanity
When we try to break stereotypes in movies and TV series, I can always hear people saying that representation matters. It is only now that I understand what it means. When all forms of media encourage representation, it allows for destigmatizing and reducing stereotypes of underrepresented groups. This creates an environment where everyone’s ideas and beliefs are valid and respected.
Another thing that gives representation is when an author includes the underrepresented people in books. Just look at this children’s book where the baby has vitiligo. It might be a small thing for others, but for parents with children with vitiligo, this makes them happy as it allows their children to grow up in a society where they are accepted.
