David McCallum
Although David McCallum initially trained as an oboist at the Royal Academy of Music, he seamlessly transitioned to acting, where he found fame through iconic roles like Illya Kuryakin in The Man From U. N.C.L.E. and Dr. Donald Ducky Mallard in N.C.I.S. However, music remained a passion, and he recorded several albums for Capitol Records.
Notably, one of his tracks, “The Edge,” gained renewed recognition when it was sampled by Dr. Dre in 1999 for the hit song “The Next Episode,” featuring Snoop Dogg. McCallum’s connection to music also extended to the next generation as his son pursued a career as a professional guitarist.
