#51: One in 5 Million
Usually, being one in a million is said as something positive and special. This person wishes she was anything but. She has a rare form of ocular melanoma, which is cancer of the eye. The incidence rate of this type of cancer is one in five million, and she wishes she wasn’t the “one.”

She shared on the thread that her doctor and the specialists she sees all consider her a “celebrity” because of her rare ocular melanoma. Obviously, they want to cure her cancer, but she shared that she doesn’t really like being treated like a “celebrity”. She’d much rather just be boring and normal and cancer-free. Here’s hoping she’s on the road to recovery.
