You’ve Been Warned
When you open a book, you may usually expect to see a foreword, perhaps a dedication note from the author to the person who inspired or assisted him or her in bringing the book to life. At the very least, you’ll find a table of contents, along with some information about the publisher. Instead, this author chose to notify their readers of the contents of this book in a clever way.
The author noted to the reader that the book actually starts on the 145th page. It’s not a mistake, but the author tried to make the book a little more approachable. They cared deeply about the reader and wanted the reader to be entirely at ease throughout the process.
