#4: What’s Cooking?
Unless you are in the process of cooking almonds, or burning an almond-scented candle, if you smell almonds or someone near you smells cooking almonds, open a window and leave the room immediately. Cyanides scent mimics that of roasted almonds. With prolonged exposure, this is a lethal poison.
Even the smallest amount of cyanide exposure can cause physical illnesses. You may start to feel nauseous and vomit, you might begin to feel dizzy or develop a migraine, and your heart can start to race. In that case, leave the exposed area as soon as possible. If you cannot get out of the room, get low to the floor, as cyanide gasses rise.
