#42: Gregory Goodwin Pincus
Well, Mr. Gregory Goodwin Pincus, I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is that the enormity of your innovation is well-recognized. Courses on Twentieth Century History, Reproductive History, and Feminist History all mention the creation of ‘The Pill’ as a very significant, even groundbreaking, event.
Now for the bad news. Are you ready? Nobody remembers it was you. I don’t know if it’s because you just lacked the charisma or because the series of events that came, as a result, was so impactful that no one was interested in the man who created the pill that enabled them. Either way, you’ve been forgotten, Greg.
