It is no secret that in the UK there have been tensions in the past between Britain and Ireland. Wanting to be considered separate, these two countries had many different spouts of warfare. These days, there is less confusion… or at least that’s what we thought.

This guy competing in what seems like the Olympics is representing Ireland, but has stirred some confusion as his last name is English. And when you put those two things on a shirt together, it becomes quite unclear which place he is actually representing.
