#19: Clearly Unequal
Whenever there is one person in a relationship who is willing to do the work, you can often tell who it is right away. Sure, relationships aren’t meant to be equal all the time, and people are allowed to feel different things at different times, but when one person isn’t willing to put in the work, you can often tell.
Choosing to go to couples therapy generally implies that you are willing to work on yourself and your relationship. But if, in reality, you aren’t willing to do those things, then why go to therapy at all? If you just want your partner to stop nagging you, then it probably isn’t the best thing for you.
