The Final Straw
“Dad jokes” are a quintessential part of being married and getting together with a partner, especially one of the masculine persuasion. Though there are plenty of women like me who delight in corny jokes, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I find them cute and they’re a nice way to make light of life. Like dark humor but without the meanness.
Some people disagree, though, and find corny jokes grating. This woman clearly belongs to the second group. Her husband decided to make a quip, saying, “okey-doke, artichokey,” which is an equivalent of “see you later, alligator, in a while, crocodile.” It was too much for the wife. She is now in the market for a good divorce lawyer.
