#15: Red-Light Special
This photo uses contrast to create anxiety in our amygdala. The red light and otherwise empty building feel very doomsday-ish and leave us feeling pretty uncomfortable. The actual building itself is unidentifiable due to a lack of landmarks within the background, but it surely isn’t as abandoned as it looks.

The color red can elicit feelings of anger and hopelessness from our brains, resulting in the “danger” vibe you get when viewing this photograph. Coupled with the stark grey concrete, it’s been used by many musicians to denote songs that are full of angst and regret. I can see why!
