Make an Emergency Candle
If you ever find yourself caught in the dark because of a power cut, try making this simple DIY candle using aluminum foil, oil, twine, and an old container. Take a container and place a long piece of twine in it. If you don’t have twine, cut up an old cotton t-shirt into thin strips, and use that. Pour some oil in it and make sure the twine is touching the oil.
Then wrap the top of the container with a piece of aluminum foil and poke a hole big enough to pull the twine out. When you light it up, the foil will protect the thread and keep it from burning out quickly. It’s no fancy candle but it will get the job done…
