People Documented Their Amusing Encounters With Raccoons

June 2, 2010 by Jesse Olson

Hello There

Some animals rely mostly on their sense of smell or their auditory perception. Raccoons, however, rely heavily on their sense of touch – which differentiates them from most other mammals. They have particularly sensitive touch receptors, which is why they constantly touch and feel everything that comes in their path.

That’s one of the reasons why domesticated raccoons love cuddling so much. These raccoons peeping through the fence to the neighbor’s backyard look like particularly good boys. They’re probably there to see what the neighbors are up to and ask the neighbors’ kids if they want to play with them.
