From the First Roles to the Most Recent of Hollywood’s Top Stars

Transforming himself from a middle-of-the-pack actor to one of Hollywood’s leading men, Hollywood can’t seem to get enough of Matthew McConaghey! Becoming popular with his laidback, smooth-talking character in the classic comedy Dazed and Confused, McConaughey quickly gained notoriety with his devilishly-charming good looks.

Appearing in multiple rom-coms throughout the early 2000s, McConaughey would move on to more serious roles such as portraying Ron Woodroof in the 2013 tearjerker Dallas Buyers Club. He would go on to win the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Actor for that role. In 2019, he played Mickey Pearson in the action film The Gentleman.
