Codes 99 and 22
Given the size of most IKEA stores and how many shoppers come and go every day, it’s important that the employees use a secret language to communicate certain problems amongst each other. There’s usually nothing too out of the ordinary, but it gives the employees a way to talk communicate without worrying the customers.
For instance, there are codes 99 and 22. 99 signifies that there’s a missing child and the employees should keep their eyes peeled. Code 22 means that there aren’t enough cashiers, and some of the employees need to head to the front. These really won’t affect your shopping experience, but it’s cool to know some of the secret IKEA code language.
