Many people complain that pedestrians are glued to their phones 24/7. They’re not wrong. But this city decided to work with that fact, not against it. They admitted defeat and acknowledged that many walkers wouldn’t look up from their phones to get crosswalk directions. So, they installed something special on the ground. 

The crosswalk light turns green when they can walk and red when waiting for oncoming traffic. That way, people don’t have to look up from their phones or be aware of their surroundings. There are mixed feelings about these crosswalk lights because there are plenty of people who need to cut down on their screen time. What do you think?
