#8: A Traffic Light and Mirror Combo, Amsterdam
Driving in a pedestrian-heavy city can be extremely stressful. No one wants to accidentally hit or injure an innocent passerby. City officials in Amsterdam implemented a simple solution to their traffic lights in order to reduce potential accidents. They simply installed small traffic mirrors underneath each signal.

Drivers can use these mirrors to see walkers and bikers who may be in their blind spots. This is especially helpful when drivers are making right or left turns. Besides the sun glaring on these mirrors during certain parts of the day, we can’t think of any negatives. In fact, this should be an essential gadget for all pedestrian-focused cities.
