#35: A LED Crosswalk Light
You know how the old saying goes. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s why nothing beats the classic crosswalk sign. This LED light is familiar to anyone across the globe, making it a universal signal for crossing the street. There’s something comforting about that little LED guy telling us “walk” or “don’t walk.”

There are different iterations of the LED crosswalk light. Some use red and green lights to clarify “go” and “stop.” Others use an image of a hand instead of a standing person to signal pedestrians must wait. No matter what version of this gadget you encounter, remember to thank John Peake Knight, the inventor of the first electric traffic light.
