#6: An Extra Long Index Finger
When I initially read this, I did a double-take. Aren’t index fingers always longer than the other fingers? I had to study the photo for a few seconds before understanding the abnormality. It turns out index fingers are not usually the longest. It’s good to be reminded of that every now and then.
I do wonder what the possible benefits and detriments of such a mutation are. While it seems to be a relatively superficial change, it’s possible that it impacts digital capabilities. For instance, would it make one better at grabbing things or worse? Pushing? Pulling? Punching? I’ll have to follow up.
