#8: Abandoned Behemoth
While shipwrecks intrigue many, we’ve already established how frightening large nautical objects are for both megalophobes and thalassophobes. We can add submechanophobia – a fear of partially submerged man-made objects – and navisphobia – the fear of shipwrecks – as well. In fact, this photo runs the gambit. Homichlophobia – the fear of fog – would be triggered as well! We’re not making this up.

Shipwrecks are pretty common, with over three million reported worldwide, which means a few of these fears aren’t quite as irrational as we think. However, for spelunkers, shipwrecks are a dream come true. These abandoned sites have varying degrees of decay, and sometimes, unique objects can be found inside.
