An important quality to look for in a friend is brutal honesty. You want to surround yourself with people who will tell you the truth, even if they know it’s not what you want to hear. Having a truly honest friend like this means they truly care about you and want what’s best for you. They won’t be afraid to tell you when you’re making a dumb decision or messing something up in your life.
If you have a few friends who are brutally honest with you, always try to listen to their advice. If you get back with your ex and they’re not thrilled, try to listen to the reasoning behind their opinion. Even if you don’t follow their advice, honest friends will prove themselves invaluable because they’ll let you know that you’re being an idiot but will still support you and be there for you.
