#8: Always Be There
Domestic abuse is more prevalent than many of us like to think. According to National Coalition Against Domestic Violence statistics, 1 in 4 women experiences intimate partner violence. It can be challenging if you have a friend dating a known abuser. Sometimes your friend can’t leave the relationship, doesn’t want to go, and/or doesn’t even want to talk about it.

In a situation like this, the best thing you can do is simply be there for her. Take her out shopping, go out to eat, and invite her over to your place. Just be a friend to her and let her know she can come to you any time, with no advance notice necessary. She’ll know you’re on her side if she ever extracts herself from the abusive situation.
