Some of us poke fun at futuristic but useless inventions because we think they’ll never gain popularity. Well, a lot of science fiction eventually does come true, in some form or another. Hugo Gernsback invented the Television Goggles back in 1963, and it seems they have recently come back into fashion.
These Television Goggles inspired the more recent invention of Google Glass. Gernsback was an inventor and writer who is credited as the “Father of Science Fiction.” He even founded the first science fiction magazine. Gernsback was a pretty forward-thinking guy. His goggles and other inventions have influenced much of the virtual reality tech we have today.
