#12: That’s What Friends Are For
If it’s been a while since you’ve watched the original Jungle Book, you may not remember the group of four goofy vultures in the film. Once you go back and watch their scene, you may notice they have floppy hairstyles and very distinct British accents. That’s weird for a group of vultures living in the Indian jungle… but there’s a reason behind it.
The four vultures were made to resemble the four members of the British rock band The Beatles! The animators did this purposefully because movie producers were in talks with The Beatles to have them voice these characters. For whatever reason, The Beatles pulled out of the arrangement at the last minute, the idea never happened, and other actors voiced the vultures.
