#15: A Kid and His Toys
The Toy Story franchise is a fan favorite for kids and adults alike. It captures the special feeling of being a kid and the pains of growing up. The themes of Toy Story hit closer to home for the creators than many of us might think. John Lasseter directed the first and second Toy Story movies, and it looks like the characters hold a special place in his heart.
If you look closely at the black-and-white photo of John, you’ll see his childhood toys in the background. Look familiar? That’s because they are! John designed many of the toy characters with his favorite childhood toys in mind. Woody was inspired by a Casper, the Friendly Ghost pull-string doll John had when he was little. You never know what childhood memories will serve as inspiration farther down the line of your life.
