#16: A Real Haunted House
Even though The Blair Witch Project came out a little over 20 years ago, this cult classic is still as terrifying as ever. (If you haven’t seen it, watch out for minor spoilers ahead.) Most people say the final scene of the movie, which features an extremely haunted old house, is the scariest part. Well, we hate to be the bearers of bad news, but that house is not just a movie set – it’s real.

The house, which was over 150 years old and located in Patapsco Valley State Park in Maryland, was formally called The Griggs House. It was not actually haunted. Unfortunately, despite public efforts to stop the demolition, this historic home was demolished a couple of years after the film’s release.
