#35: Make Your Own Veggie Stock
Don’t get us wrong, composting is a great idea for things like coffee beans and egg shells. It can go towards providing nutrients for your plant and reducing waste you would normally throw in the trash. But when it comes to vegetable scraps such as the peels of onions and carrots and the ends of other vegetables, you can do better.

Instead of tossing them straight into compost, think about throwing them in the freezer. That way, when you need some veggie stock, you have a freezer full of vegetables to pull from. All you need is an hour and about 10 cups of water, and you can make your own delicious veggie stock. No more buying boxes or tubs of unhealthy stock from the store just to throw away the cartons right after.
