Overworked, Underpaid
Living in New York is a challenging experience. “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere,” sings Frank Sinatra, and he wasn’t exaggerating. Living costs are high, and there aren’t enough jobs to cover the bills. When they decided to investigate how much money they earned in a month, this lousy intern realized how hard their life was.
According to their pay stubs, they make $2.50 per hour. That’s well below the minimum wage! Their low salary is most likely because they are interns, which are notoriously underpaid no matter what industry you work in. The driver they were on the phone with made the even more distressing point that a New York parking meter makes more money per hour than this intern. We believe they should quit their jobs.
