Garth Brooks
Garth Brooks pioneered the integration of rock and pop into country music, though we don’t hear any difference from his songs and others. That’s not to say the man isn’t talented. His albums went platinum 157 times! That means he sold 157 million albums throughout his career! Mind-blowing!
In high school, he focused primarily on improving his athletic abilities. He played football, ran track, and received a scholarship to Oklahoma State University, where he represented his school in the javelin. At one point, the kindhearted Garth worked as a bouncer, but when he formed his own band, he put that life, as well as sports, behind him.
