55 Instances of Celebrities Clapping Back at Ellen DeGeneres

It was a huge deal when Ellen came out on the cover of Time magazine back in 1997. In fact, it even lead to the cancellation of her sitcom “Ellen” because the producers didn’t want to deal with the controversy. Needless to say, it made headlines and that’s all anyone could talk about. 

It seems that some celebrities didn’t like the fact that she was getting all this media attention. Apparently, Elton John made a comment that she should “shut up already” and just “be funny.” Ellen was very hurt by this comment and said she expected more from someone who belonged to the same community. We totally agree with her.
