#34: Near-Death Experience
Isla Fisher had a brush with death while filming her 2013 film Now You See Me. In the film, Isla plays escapist magician Henley Reeves who pulls off mind-blowing stunts in front of live audiences. Isla did her own stunts in the film, but she regretted her choice when filming a scene in a water tank.
While filming a take underwater, one of the magnetic chains between her ankles and wrists got stuck, and she couldn’t get herself free. Panicked, she began banging on the glass so the crew could get her out. Many people didn’t realize she was drowning and just thought she was doing some superb acting. However, her drowning was no joke, and they eventually got her out of the tank and to safety. Looking back, Isla and the crew realized they should have established a safety signal for dangerous situations like that.
