#39: Authentic Garbage
They say the devil is in the details, and the level of detail that some filmmakers think of is truly incredible. One great example is the 1976 film All the President’s Men following reporters at the Washington Post uncovering the infamous Watergate scandal. You may think that a biopic examining news reporters wouldn’t require too much attention to details when it comes to the setting, the filmmakers thought otherwise.
It was important for them to replicate the newsroom of the Washington Post, and since the filming took place in L.A., it was hard to achieve. In order to make the set more believable and authentic, they decided to ship literal trash (including rats!) from Washington to Hollywood.
