If we were this guy, we’d only feel safe holding onto this baggie and mysterious object if we had a pair of gloves on. This guy, however, lives on the edge and has isn’t worried about the unknown fluid seeping out and getting onto his skin or in his lungs. Hasn’t he watched Alien: Covenant before?  

But he had nothing (maybe?) to worry about. Someone informed this guy that inside of the baggie was a handwarmer. By crushing the squishy object, it’ll produce a synthetic response that irradiates heat. You can also pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds to give it more heat.
