Possibly caused by calcium carbonate deposits
This person didn’t travel to the location of this lake but was curious what made it so blue. Without pointing anyone to where it was located, all anyone could do was speculate where it was and what caused the calming blueness of the lake. That’s when someone who traveled to Myanmar chimed in.
The lake in this picture is a part of the Blue Water Lagoon, located in the southern region of Shan State. As for what gave the lake its unique blue hue, some of the helpful Redditors claimed that ancient calcium carbonate deposits might in fact be the primary culprit.
