#23: You Win!
Pamphlets from medical offices are always interesting to look at. Who designed them? Who are these generically happy people on the front of the pamphlet? There are always so many questions that go forever unanswered. Yet again, we have quite a few questions about this “Win Diabetes” pamphlet. Our first question is, who thought this was a good idea?
The title of this pamphlet is meant to convey hope and resilience in the face of a diabetes diagnosis. However, the line “win diabetes” sounds more like diabetes is something you win at the carnival. No one wants to “win” diabetes. When you take a closer look, you notice the fine print that says, “win OVER diabetes” and “win AGAINST diabetes.” Who’s idea was it to put the words ‘over’ and ‘against’ in this tiny font?
