Body Positivity
“Small steps toward body positivity: last night when my mother-in-law said, ‘You look good, have you lost weight?’ I said, ‘No.’” It’s always awkward when someone asks you if you’ve lost weight or barrels down the opposite direction – they implore you to eat more. Remember, you have autonomy over your own body.
Nobody else should try to speak for you or tell you what you should do. Not even your mother-in-law. Only doctors should really be afforded the opportunity to give input regarding your body. Thankfully, this person seized the moment to confidently stand tall and love her body. As long as she loves herself, that’s all that matters.
