Queen Victoria Of The 19th Century In The 21st Century
Franz Xaver Winterhalter was not only a German painter and lithographer, he is also a portrait painter for the royal families and upper-class societies of the 19th century. His best works include Empress Eugénie Surrounded by her Ladies in Waiting, portraits he made of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, and Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom herself.
In this painting, she is seen wearing the royal cape, as well as the crown laden with gold. I wonder how far Varkey’s creativity can get as he still found a way to make something funny out of the queen. He changed the crown and put the logo of Burger King behind her, and changed it to Burger Queen.
