Do You Run? Only Out Of Money.
Eugene von Blaas, also known by the names Eugene de Blaas or Eugenio Blaas, is an Italian painter whose artworks are usually scenes in Venice. However, his works also include portraits and religious paintings. Some of his works include Scene from the Decameron, A Venetian Courtship, and one of his earliest works, Faust and Marguerite in the Garden.
Fun fact, von Blaas painted this piece when was just 18. This exact painting was inspired by the Act III of the tragic opera, Faust, where Faust attempts to seduce Marguerite in her garden. However, seducing was not in Varkey’s mind as he created this fictional conversation. It kind of seems fitting, considering that there are nosy people behind them.
