#44: One Big Happy Family
If you’ve paid any attention to the news lately, you’ve probably seen articles talking about how, the economy being what it is, more and more young people in the USA are living with their parents after college. And it’s always treated as though it’s strange and shocking, because moving out on your own is very much a norm in American society.
But in many cultures, multiple generations of a family might live together, and it’s not uncommon for young people to move in with their parents. Personally, as much as I love my parents, I think we would have murdered each other if we tried to live together when I was in my 20s; I need space and the ability to go to Taco Bell at the 2 in the morning without explaining myself to anyone. But I’m glad it works out for other families.
